Meet Pastor Miller

Born number five of six children to Harmon and Agnes Rogers in Paterson, New Jersey. Attended Paterson Public Schools and Christ Church United Methodist. Married in 1983 to Rev. Jimmie Miller. The proud mother of four children, raised one nephew and grandmother of five.

Completed BS at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA in Occupational & Technical Studies and then taught in the Norfolk and Stafford County Public School systems as a Technology Teacher. Completed M. Div. at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA and Ph.D. in Higher Education at Old Dominion University as well.

Served as a chaplain in the U.S. Navy stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Training Center, Twentynine Palms, CA at the Marine Wing Support Squadron 374. Received a Navy Commendation for outstanding service. Pastored Sycamore Hill AME Zion in Gatesville, NC and Martin Temple AME Zion in Compton, CA.

Served as interim pastor at Red Oak Grove AME Zion in Gates, NC and First AME Zion Church in Los Angeles, CA. Currently, pastor of Varick Memorial AME Zion Church in Hackensack, NJ and an adjunct professor for Ashford University in the Educational Leadership/Higher Education Department.
