Meet The Pastor
Rev. Rashaun Booker
The son of Ronald and Kathleen Williams, The Reverend Lord Rashaun Booker, has two brothers and four sisters. He grew up in the Bronx, NY, went to the United House of Prayer for all People and school, attended the Foreign Language Academy of Global Studies, which sparked his love of different cultures and international travel. His family moved to Jersey City, NJ, during his late teen years, and he decided to attend New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he studied Information Technology with a concentration in Graphics Design & Multimedia and minored in American Musical Theatre.
Rev. Booker is married to his lovely wife, Lady Larissa, who lives in Central NJ with their son Christian. Together they love musicals, planning, and attending High Tea and have received their Lordship as bestowed by Sovereign Lady Elizabeth the Second, by the grace of God, Queen of the UK and all her territories.
Starting his career in Graphics and Web Design, he has grown to roles of increasing responsibility which led him to accept a job in Switzerland for an International Pharmaceutical company. Now, with over 25 years of leadership in training and program development, project management, and design, he uses the skills and talents that he has acquired through his personal and career-related experiences to support and uplift the kingdom of God. He currently holds an Executive Director position at the country’s leading Global Financial Firm as the Head of Firmwide Education Strategy, having 8 of the firm’s high performing Vice Presidents report directly to him.
Rev. Booker pastored Antioch AME Zion Church, the small congregation with a big heart in Linden, NJ, where they genuinely believe in the power of prayer. He was called to ministry in 2010 and began his humble walk at his home church Shrewsbury Ave AME Zion Church, in Red Bank, NJ, under the leadership of the late Rev. Ronald P. McDougal. While holding several roles at his home church, he also served as Chief of Staff and Minister of Church Growth and Evangelism, contributing to his preparation for the pastorate. An ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Rev. Booker, was appointed the Pastor of Varick Memorial AME Zion Church in Hackensack NJ.
His community involvement includes his active participation with the NAACP, his community partnership with the Equal Justice Initiative, and the Board of Directors for RMW Foundation. This non-profit organization Feeds, Educates and Empowers both youth and adults in Monmouth County.
The Lord allows the very warm and enthusiastic Rev. Booker to see a world of possibilities, and he gets excited and passionate about his ministry. Focusing on excellence, he loves to inspire, help others reach their maximum potential, and uncover their purpose as they grow closer to the almighty God. He seeks to turn the strong into something superb, doing it all with a SMILE. His organizational and leadership development ministry (SMILE) helps to teach people to use their SMILE to help others.
The journey is not easy. Sometimes it is hard
Your trials and tribulations may leave you worn and scarred.
But if there is a time in your life where you are feeling rather low
His favorite scripture is what Rev. Booker would like you to know
“I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help…
All of my help cometh from the Lord!” (Psalm 121:1)
